Nigerian singer Banky W had reacted to claims by music producer Samklef that he owes him money for producing Wizkid’s hit “Pakurumo.”
In a rant on social media, he had claimed that the sharing formula Was 50/50 but that he’s not received any royalties since the production of the project. He further threatened that Banky W would be hearing from his lawyers soon regarding unpaid royalties.
Samklef was reacting to an interview in which Banky W had noted, speaking to Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, that he was disappointed that Wizkid didn’t attend his wedding to Adesua Etomi.
Wizkid himself had reacted to the interview earlier, with a laconic “LOL.”
Reacting to Samklef’s claim of not being paid for producing the project, Banky W had urged him to channel his grievances through the appropriate quarters. He insisted that his name and that of his record label (Empire Mates Entertainment) were never there in whatever document or agreement the music producer signed.
He insisted that neither he nor his record label has taken a dime of the royalties that supposedly belonged to the music producer. He ended by asking Samklef to stop talking about him because he’s not the one in charge of Whatever Samklef supposedly signed up for.
