Pop queen Beyoncé is about to treat fans to a new film entitled Black Is King. Already, a trailer for the film has been released on her website beyoncé.com. it is the first thing you see when you navigate to the site.
Black Is King, which is said to have been influenced by Disney’s The Lion King, will debut on Disney Plus in July, followed by an international premiere the same month (31 July).
According to Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment, Black Is King is “a celebratory memoir on the Black experience.” The teaser, which featured Beyoncé herself, affirmed this beautifully, as you are going to find out presently.
Based on the statement announcing the film, one may say that Black Is King will be revelatory, a work that will speak not only to all Blacks out there, but just about anyone conversant with the black experience, in the United States and elsewhere. Sounds interesting, right? Come on.
31 July, the international premiere date for Black Is King, doesn’t seem far away. We can’t wait to share the work with you when it eventually drops. By the way, what do you think of the trailer? You may drop your thoughts in the comment section below.
