Black Coffee challenges African graphics designers to recreate the animal-inspired African map used to celebrate Africa Day.
It’s Africa Day and literally everyone is celebrating. Some of the continent’s biggest and most talented acts are scheduled to deliver a virtual performance in celebration of the day.
However, Mzansi disc jockey, Black Coffee has got something else in mind. The talented DJ recently took to Instagram to challenge graphics designers all over Africa to make a few changes on the map to make it better. The Mzansi star shared a photo of the usual Africa Day logo / map which features designs of animals.
According to him, he’s always seen it used to celebrate the day but doesn’t think it describes Africa for what she truly is. He challenged African graphics designers to recreate the map to reflect what Africa is and also inspire the next generation. We think he’s spot on.
