K-pop star and Blackpink member Lisa waves the chequered flag for the final lap at the F1 Miami Grand Prix.
Blackpink’s Lisa reportedly showed up to the F1 Miami Grand Prix and lit up the Miami International Autodrome. The media reports that the K-pop singer waved the iconic checkered flag at her debut Formula 1 Grand Prix event and it was a moment for her.
Billboard writes that she wore a tailored beige jacket and miniskirt set, and shared pictures capturing some of the fun she had on her F1 experience to her Instagram. Of course, the fans had to be a part of it too. She wrote,
“Honoured to wave the flag at my first @f1.”
TMZ also reports that she took snaps with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who clinched second place in the race, and shared the podium with McLaren’s Lando Norris.
According to The South African, F1 tradition dictates that the flag marks the end of each session. It’s such a thrill that Lisa was given that honour.
The star is known for her bangers “Lalisa” and “Money.” The latter became the first solo K-pop track in history to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify. Reacting to it, she said,
“I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career,”
“Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.”
