Bombshell In Court Over Kelly Khumalo’s Phone Call With Accused Before Senzo Meyiwa’s Killing

The revelations continue in the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, with a police officer revealing that one of the men arrested in connection with the footballer’s killing had two phone conversations with Kelly Khumalo, Senzo Meyiwa’s girlfriend at the time.

Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead in the Vosloorus family home of Kelly Khumalo. She was present at the time of the incident, and so were her sister Zandie and mother. There were others in the house as well.

Colonel Lambertus Steyn, the State’s fourth witness and an analyst at the national cold case unit, is employed as a data analyst and investigation officer, dropped a bombshell when he told the court there were two phone records showing Kelly Khumalo had a conversation with one of the accused, Fisokuhle Ntuli, two months before Senzo was murdered.

While the first conversation between Kelly Khumalo was in August, the second conversation took place two months later, on October 15, just 11 days before Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead.

Kelly Khumalo has always maintained her innocence in the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. In fact, she once claimed that the former Bafana Bafana goalie was the only man she has ever loved in her life. The trial continues.
