Bonang Matheba amused many of her fans when she made a claim about her language proficiency in reply to a fan sharing the trailer of the second season of Young, Famous and African, a reality show of which she is a part.
The fan, known as Karen Mthethwa, shared the trailer on Twitter with a caption that showed she was pleased and amused at the same time. Bonang retweeted it with the comment, “I speak isiZulu now. Yes!”
Her fans found the claim amusing and they laughed hard at what she posted. Before now, her proficiency in the language wasn’t something many were familiar with or too interested in. So her declaiming her proficiency in the language caught many by surprise and amused some because they believe she couldn’t be in earnest. You can check out the post below.

The Young, Famous and African reality show is exclusive to Netflix and brings together some of the notable faces in Africa’s entertainment and entrepreneurial universe, including Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Nadia Nakai and Khanyi Mbau, among others.
Since the unveiling of the show, it had become a staple among many South Africans. And from the look of things, it would be that way for a while.
