Bongani Fassie Honours Late Mother Brenda Fassie With A Show

Mzansi singer Bongani Fassie honours his late mother iconic singer Brenda Fassie two decades after her death.

Brenda Fassie remains one of the most iconic singers in South Africa, Africa and the world. Her music is still revered all over the world. The music star passed on 20 years ago and Mzansi still remembers her legacy.

According to Briefly News, her son Bongani planned a special show to commemorate the day the country lost its icon. The late singer was remembered specially for her legacy 20 years after her death with the “Night of Stars” show hosted by her son.

Fassie is reported to have passed on 9 May 2004 at 39 years old. Her son’s tribute show for the 20th anniversary of her death was praised by Mzansi. It happened on Thursday, 9 May 2024, at the Tycoon nightclub in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Announcing the show, he wrote,

“It’s been 20 years since her passing and her music still resonates with millions around the world.”

“We 2 honor my late mother, a beloved figure in my life, and celebrate her as the legendary African pop icon. It’s been 20 years, but her spirit lives on through her music. Let’s gather with fellow artists for a night of tribute and celebration”
