It is common knowledge that not everyone comes from a privileged background. Some came from the bottom and had to fight their way to the top. Of course, it is all shades of fulfilling to finally make it after years of struggle or being at the bottom,
South African footballer Bongani Zungu should know. After all, his life exemplified the “grass to grace” story.
At some point, he was no other than a “street kid,” playing football with his fields in the open. And by open we mean nothing more than a stretch of dry earth – a dusty, open place with no grass.
But Bongani had a dream, which was to make it as a footballer. That kept him going even when it appeared like the days were hard and nothing might come out of his ambitions.
Well. something great did happen, as he is now a successful footballer and part of the local side Mamelodi Sundowns. Taking to Instagram, he had treated fans to what it was like in the beginning for him – the open space where he played football years ago. See the post below.
