Bophelo Ke Semphekgo: South Africans Remember The Iconic Nakedi Ribane (Senthaolele)
Nothing beats being remembered for good especially when one is still alive but perhaps no longer active in a role for which the public has come to love one.
That right there is the case with Nakedi Ribane. She was one of the TV notables of the 80s. But time flies and new voices have taken over, as they should. But the memories remain. And so so does the legacy.
Nakedi Ribane was thrust into the consciousness of many South Africans again recently after popular Twitter user Andile Bhala shared two images of the media personality on the microblogging platform.
It was like bringing the dead back to life. The reactions were instant and many recalled Nakedi Ribane’s times from the 80s and what impact she made on South TV space.
Back when Bophelo Ke Semphekgo was the in-thing in South African TV, Nakedi Ribane was also one of the notable figures, playing the role of Senthaolele.
In the latest pictures of her shared on Twitter. South Africans were wowed by her she had aged gracefully (she is currently 66 years). Besides recalling her role in the Bophelo Ke Semphekgo, some even compared her to Brooke Logan.
It goes to show that people are not only watching but will one day appreciate what they like.
