South African singer Brenda Fassie might be dead, but her memory is still pretty fresh. This shouldn’t be a surprise because she made quite an impact in the music industry before her sudden death several years ago.
It is this impact that makes people around the world continue to remember her long after her death. The songstress was born on November 3, 1964, in Cape Town, South Africa. She died forty years later, in 2004.
It’s been over two decades since her death, but her memory lives. Brenda Fassie had only one child at the time of her death. It is public knowledge that she wanted another child and even asked for sperm donors but she was unsuccessful at the time of her death. Anyway, her only child, Bongani Fassie, has grown into a young man battling his own demons, including drug abuse.
