British Queen Elizabeth II Tests Positive For COVID-19

The British queen, Elizabeth II, is down with COVID-19. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the royal has just tested positive for the virus.

In a statement, the palace noted that the queen is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms” but will continue to carry out “light duties.” She’s currently receiving medical attention and will continue to follow all health protocols.

The news of her current affliction is of global interest, and good wishes for her recovery have been pouring in torrents. Some fans of her reign have turned social media into platforms of prayer for her recovery.

History shows that people actually do recover from the coronavirus, so, with the attention she’s currently receiving, it is expected she would bounce back again.

Her illness notwithstanding, she had sent a message of congratulations to the British curling team for clinching a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. She also expressed her belief that others would join her in sending best wishes to the team, coaches, friends, and family.

By the way, the Queen’s son, Prince Charles, tested positive for the virus earlier this month. It was the second time he had tested positive for the virus.

It’s a developing story, so you may want to stay tuned for updates?
