Cake Media Battles AKA Over Ownership Of “The Braai Show”

The drama continues between AKA and Cake Media over the ownership of The Braai Show.

For the show, which is currently in its second season, Family Tree rapper Cassper Nyovest had been picked as host apparently without AKA’s vetting.  AKA, who claims to own a 50 percent stake in the show, and Cassper, who owns no stake at all, are adversaries. And AKA is opposed to the choice of Cassper Nyovest as host.

He’d contacted his lawyers, who wrote the broadcasters of the show (SABC-1), urging them to halt the show immediately. And they did.

In a statement, however, Cake Media, who are the executive producers of the show, dismissed AKA’s claims of a 50 percent stake in the show. And they gave him until Monday 16 August (yesterday) to retract the statements and claims he’d made on social media about his “purported ownership.”

Cake Media Insists The Braai Show was conceptualized by MakhuduCom and not AKA.

Anyway, a day has elapsed since AKA was given an ultimatum to apologize and retract his statement regarding ownership of the show. And AKA has not apologized yet.

What step would Cake Media take next? Follow us right away and stay tuned. This is going to be a long fight by the look of things.
