Cape Town Mosque Might Sue YoungstaCPT For Music Video Filmed at Their Property

A Cape Town mosque has threatened to sue SA Hip Hop star YoungstaCpt for filming a music video on their property without their consent.

The Habibia Soofie mosque is slamming YoungstaCpt for disrespect. The mosque has threatened to sue rapper YoungstaCpt over an unauthorized music video for his new song, which was filmed at their property.

Briefly reports that the award-winning Cape Town rapper, who practices Islam, filmed the music video for his song Alhamdulilah outside the Habibia Soofie mosque in Athlone. The mosque has released a statement on Facebook revealing that the rapper did not get authorization from their board of trustees. The statement reads,

“The House of Allah is a sacred space in Islam, and its sanctity must always be upheld and protected. The act of posing as an Imam and rapping in front of a masjid, and at the same time, distorting the praise of Allah, undermines this sanctity and is a direct insult to the House of Allah and to this religion of Islam.”

The mosque plans to take legal action to have the videos removed from social media platforms and also stop it from being officially released. YoungstaCPT previously teased the video but has recently taken it down.
