Cassper And Stogie share reactions to the limited financial support allocated for artists during lockdown.
The coming lockdown of South Africa has caused many to lament about the need for financial support and so on. This led to President Ramaphosa announcing a solidarity fund to help those in need during the lockdown. This also includes a seed fund.
However, artistes in Mzansi were not included in the fund which led a lot of celebs to react against it. In their opinion, they are not taken seriously in the country. Due to this, the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture, Nathi Mthethwa was forced to hold a press conference where he announced assistance for artists.
According to him, R150 million has been allocated to a ‘relief programme’ for the creative sector. He however revealed that the funds were only for the first quarter of the financial year which did not sit well with artists who took to social media to complain. Many including Stogie T, Rouge, Cassper Nyovest and more shared their reactions on social media.
150 million is not money.
