Family Tree boss Cassper Nyovest has finally launched his Legacy Deal, a collaborative initiative with Drip Footwear, unveiling new sneakers for the public.

Called “Root Of Fame 990s, ” the name of the sneakers has been a source of curiosity to fans. Explaining this, the “Amademoni” rapper had stated that  990 comes from the year he was born. There is no 1 because he is the 1.
Also, 990 stands for the price of the sneakers.
The songster also revealed that he started working on the sneakers deal years back, during the onset of the coronavirus when he couldn’t do gigs.

While Cassper Nyovest might be luxuriating in the success of his latest launch, one of his pals — or rather an ex-pal — DJ Speedsta has made it clear he wouldn’t be wearing the sneakers.

He made this k own in a tweet. According to him, while he respects the hustle, he can’t be caught wearing the sneakers. He gave no reason for his opinion.

Some Twitter users supported him, stating the product was overpriced and should have been sold for R200. Others criticized the DJ for not supporting black business.
