That AKA and Cassper Nyovest had a longstanding beef until the former’s assassination on February 10 is not in doubt and certainly no longer news. But what is the origin of the beef between the two? Well, the Family Tree boss has just addressed it.
He traced the genesis of their beef to one moment years ago when they were still cool and chilling together. He recalled telling AKA that he had studied him, HHP (who groomed Cassper) and others and that he wanted to be bigger and better.
According to Cassper, that statement apparently triggered their beef, which sadly never ended until AKA’s assassination earlier this year.
The beef was so pronounced that at some point, AKA insulted Cassper’s parents. It was one hit so unexpected and so damaging that Cassper vowed never to forgive AKA. To resolve their differences, he challenged AKA to a boxing match. Somehow, the fight never took place until AKA’s death.
This isn’t the first time Cassper has addressed their beef, though. He had previously claimed after AKA’s death that their conflict was overblown. Whatever the case, it is clear that South African rap will never be the same again with AKA’s assassination and it is just sad that AKA and Cass never made up until death intruded.
