Although Refiloe Maele Phoolo, the South African rapper who goes by the stage name of Cassper Nyovest, readily admits music has been good to him and he has made much from his singing gift, he wouldn’t call himself the richest South African musician.
This much became obvious earlier today during a question and answer session with his fans. A fan had asked if the Family Tree boss was the richest musician in South African. Cassper Nyovest has given a vehement “no” in response.
According to the “Amademoni” rapper, veterans like Oskido, Arthur Mafokate and Black Coffee are the champs with the bag. He also indicated artistes from the younger generation might be richer than him as well. Here he gave no names. But his references are easy to guess.
Also, during the conversation, a fan had said he would block Cassper Nyovest on Twitter if he should fail to reveal the tracklist for his imminent “Any Minute Now (AMN)” album. Clearly the fan wasn’t alone in his plans. From the responses, it was clear other fans had similar plans.
