The biggest weekend of the year is here – according to Cassper Nyovest anyway. Today, Friday, April 8, is the weigh-in concert for his boxing March with fellow musician Naakmusiq. And Cassper is excited about it all.
In a post on Instagram, he had given fans clues about what to expect. According to the Family Tree boss, several notable names in South African music will be performing at the concert, including Blxckie, Zakes Bantwini, Big Zulu, Mellow & Sleazy, Young Stunna, Kamo Mphela, Dr Peppa, Malebza and Kitso Pitso.
Naakmusiq was not the person Cassper originally wanted to fight. His targets were Prince Kaybee and AKA, two musicians who are also his adversaries. But neither of them has taken up the challenge. Naakmusiq had popped in, showing his readiness to faceoff with Cassper in the ring. The two of them had agreed to the match. And now they’re about to show the world who’s the better boxer.
It would be Cassper Nyovest’s second match and Naakmusiq’s first. On December 23 last year, Cass had beaten Slik Talk in what was then known as Fame Vs Clout boxing match.
The fight with Naakmusiq is of particular interest to the public because, Unlike Slik Talk, Cassper’s new opponent is very much in shape.
