Celebrated Singer Olivia Newton-John Dead At 73

After an illustrious, decades-long career, Olivia Newton-John died on Monday, August 8. She was 73.

Writing on her official Facebook page soon after her death, her husband, John Easterling, noted that the celebrated singer had died on her ranch in the early hours of Monday, surrounded by family and friends.

Amid the uncertainty spawned by the tragedy, her husband also asked the public to allow the family some privacy as they mourn their departed. Also, the cause of death was not revealed. However, it is public knowledge that the singer has been battling breast cancer.

She was diagnosed with the disease back in 2017 and had been managing it since. Even with the ailment, though, she was a symbol of hope to many as she shared her journey with breast cancer with many who would read her.

While some saw her death coming, many didn’t. And it has been raining condolences on social media since, with many tweeps recalling her impact on the music scene and what they love the most about her and her music. Among her notable songs are “Hopelessly Devoted To You” and “Summer Nights.”

Olivia Newton-John impacted many lives and will be sorely missed for her contributions to the global cultural universe.
