Celebrated Singer Steve Kekana Dead At 63

Celebrated Mzansi Singer Steve Kekana is dead. He died on 1 July, according to family members and reports by multiple sources. He was aged 63.

The cause of his death is unclear at this time, but the industry is already in mourning for one of its notable voices. Across social media, messages of condolences have been pouring in for the late singer with some users listing some of their favourite songs in his catalogue. 

Born in Limpopo, Steve Kekana studied at the University of Johannesburg. Hebegan his musical career in the 1980s and soon emerged as one of the respected voices in South a African music. He stands out for many projects, including “Umuntu.” Steve Kekana’s music is a mix of RnB, pop, jazz, and soul. 

He’ll be sorely missed for his soulful numbers as well as for his contributions to the music industry in South Africa.
