The entertainment industry has been buzzing with the escalating feud between Gogo Maweni, whose real name is Makgotso Lee-Anne Mokopo, and Gogo Skhotheni-Dlamini, known off-screen as Tumi Motsoeni Shange. The two, who are stars of the show “Izangoma Zodumo,” have been at loggerheads, with their disagreements spilling over to social media.
The origin of their disagreement can be traced back to allegations by Skhotheni-Dlamini that Maweni had stolen her soap, believed to bring good fortune. The situation further intensified when Skhotheni-Dlamini accused Maweni of suggesting that she was using her children in traditional rituals, known as ukuthwala. Skhotheni-Dlamini expressed her distress over these allegations, especially since her son, born prematurely, has been unwell for over a year. She stated that Maweni’s continuous online jabs, where she discussed Skhotheni-Dlamini’s personal life, were hurtful and unwarranted.
However, the feud took an unexpected turn when musician Oscar Mbo’s name was dragged into the mix. Maweni alleged that Skhotheni-Dlamini was having an affair with the DJ. In a recent Instagram Live session, Maweni expressed her desire to confront Skhotheni-Dlamini face-to-face, challenging her to a street fight. She went on to label Skhotheni-Dlamini as someone who sleeps with Oscar Mbo, further fueling the controversy.
On the other hand, Skhotheni-Dlamini, who practices polyandry and is married to two men, Monde Shange and Sibusiso, has been vocal about not fearing Maweni. Adding another layer to the drama, Maweni made claims about Skhotheni-Dlamini’s husband, Monde, being bisexual.
Recent reports from various news outlets, including The South African, have highlighted the growing tension between the two celebrity sangomas. The public has been keenly following the developments, with many expressing their views and opinions on social media platforms.
