Celine Dion Cancels, Defers Shows Over Rare Neurological Disorder

These are not the best of times for celebrated singer Celine Dion. Years ago, she was one of the most visible figures in global pop, traveling the world and wooing everyone with her charming voice. But a lot has changed in her life and career and the singer is battling a couple of afflictions, including what has been described as stiff person syndrome.

In fact, as a result of the stiff person syndrome, which has been giving her spasms, she has had to cancel her show.

In a recent post on her verified Instagram page, the “My Heart Will Go On” crooner had informed farms of the rare neurological disorder. Stiff person syndrome, she said, was giving her spasms that affect every aspect of her life. As a result, she sometimes has difficulty walking.

The ailment has also affected her vocal cords, making her unable to sing as she used to in years past. As result, she has had to postpone her “Courage” tour. As things stand, her summer 2023 concerts have been canceled, while her spring 2023 shows have been deferred to 2024.

Amid her health challenges, fans have been standing by her in prayers and in words of encouragement.

Be well, Celine Dion!
