Chris Rock’s “Selective Outrage” Over Will Smith Slap

Baltimore was alive recently for Chris Rock’s “Selective Outrage” comedic event, and it was as revealing as can be. For many who showed up for the event, it was an avenue to get to know about what Chris Rock might say about the famous Oscar slap he got from the actor during last year’s Oscars.

At the time, the comedian had made a joke about Chris Rock’s wife Jada Pinkett’s bald hair, unaware she was suffering from alopecia. His comments had infuriated Will, who stormed the stage and slapped him, Returning to his seat, he had warned Chris to take his fucking mouth off his wife’s business.

The slap reverberated around the world then and Will Smith ended up with a 10-year Oscar ban. In that period he can neither attend the Oscars nor follow events virtually.

Toward the end of his “Selective Outrage” special, the comedian delved into his reaction to the slap, and it was clear that he wasn’t happy with what Will Smith did. The slap was so hard that it actually caused a ringing in his ears. Interestingly, Will Smith did not directly apologise to him.

By the way, Chris Rock also dwelled on other topics, including abortion and the Kardashians.
