Connie Ferguson & Daughters Celebrate Shona Ferguson’s Posthumous 50th birthday

Mzansi actor Connie Ferguson and her daughters celebrate her late husband Shona on his posthumous 50th birthday.

Three years ago, Mzansi lost one of its most celebrated filmmakers, Shona Ferguson. Since his passing, his wife Connie has carried on his legacy and celebrated him in ways that she can. On 30 April, Connie celebrated what would have been Shona’s 50th birthday.

She shared a video of him singing in the car and saying he couldn’t wait for his 50th birthday. She wrote in the captions,

“Today would have been your 50th birthday! The way you were looking forward to it and how you started planning for it already! All I know is if you were here, we would be in some foreign country now, exploring and celebrating life! Because you were big on celebrating!”

She also promised to keep celebrating him, writing,

“Today and every day I celebrate you, my love, for all you were, not only to me or to our family, but to everyone who had the pleasure of your encounter, in person or otherwise. You gave me the best 20 years of my life, and for that I will always bless God. Happy heavenly 50th birthday my angel. I’ll never stop missing or loving you! Continue resting in peace, my king.”

His daughters Lesedi and Alicia also showed love to him on their pages. Lesedi wrote,

“Happy Heavenly birthday Fah. We’d beeeeeen talking about your 50th, how we’d be celebrating it and the plans we had leading up to it. I hope you’ve kept your word and are celebrating it in style up here. I hope love continues to surround you and I hope our ancestors are spoiling you. I wish we could’ve done the same,”

“Today would’ve been your 50th. I remember you being so excited for this day and started planning what you wanted to do way in advance. Words cannot describe how much I miss you Fa, but one can only trust in God to ease the pain of your absence. I pray that you are resting peacefully and that we are making you proud. I love you always and forever Fa,” wrote Alicia.
