Coolio Of “Gangsta’s Paradise” Fame Dead At 59

If dreams could come true, then almost everyone would want to live forever. But then, that’s not the reality. If there is life, there will one day be death. Coolio of the “Gangsta’s Paradise” fame is dead. He was 59.

According to multiple reports, the songster passed away at a friend’s residence on Wednesday. The cause of death wasn’t revealed at the time of filing this story.

While the cause of death is yet to be determined, reports indicate that law enforcement will still perform a toxicology test to determine the cause of death.

Jarez, a longtime manager to Coolio, confirmed the rapper’s death while also sharing details about his passing. He noted that the rapper was visiting a friend in Los Angeles at the time of the tragedy.

Coolio, he said, had gone to the bathroom. And when he didn’t come out for a while, his friend started calling on him. When he got no response, he went into the bathroom and found his friends on the floor. Paramedics were called in, and they confirmed the rapper dead on the spot.

Born Artis Leon Ivey Jr, Coolio was quite popular in the 1990s. In the intervening years, though, he’d declined in musical visibility and relevance.
