Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0: A Game-Changer

Phantom Liberty Expansion and Major Overhauls Set to Revitalize the Game

In a series of recent announcements, CD Projekt Red has unveiled a plethora of changes and additions coming to their flagship title, Cyberpunk 2077. The highly anticipated Update 2.0, coupled with the Phantom Liberty expansion, promises to breathe new life into the game, addressing many of the concerns raised by the player community since its release.

The major highlight of Update 2.0 is the complete overhaul of the game’s skill trees. Gone are the days of minuscule percentage upgrades. Players can now look forward to dynamic perks that truly impact gameplay. Some of the showcased perks include a bullet-deflecting skill for katanas, new melee weapon executions, an air dash feature, and a revolver skill reminiscent of Cassidy’s deadeye ultimate. These perks, set to be part of the base game, promise to redefine the Cyberpunk experience.

However, the Phantom Liberty expansion isn’t just playing second fiddle. Set to release next month, this expansion brings a host of new content. Players will revisit Night City’s Pacifica region, now expanded with the new district of Dogtown. The expansion promises a standalone story, drawing comparisons to The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine in terms of depth and content.

Phantom Liberty also introduces the Relic skill tree, boasting powerful abilities that seem almost overpowered at first glance. From mantis blades that allow players to leap towards enemies to gorilla arms that transform fists into devastating weapons, the expansion seems to be pushing the boundaries of gameplay mechanics.

Vehicle combat, a much-requested feature, is also making its debut. Players can now engage in high-octane chases, use firearms while driving, and even hack into enemy vehicles. Some vehicles come equipped with their own arsenal, turning car chases into explosive battles.

The police AI, a point of contention since the game’s launch, has also received significant upgrades. The NCPD now offers a more dynamic and challenging pursuit experience, setting up roadblocks, and employing aggressive tactics to apprehend players.

While the free Update 2.0 promises a revamped Cyberpunk experience, the Phantom Liberty expansion seems to be the cherry on top, offering new content and gameplay mechanics that are sure to entice both new and returning players. With the expansion set to release on September 26th, the Cyberpunk community is buzzing with excitement, eager to dive back into the neon-lit streets of Night City.
