Dave Rennie, Sacked Wallabies Coach, Appreciates Support From Players

In football, one thing that is certain is uncertainty, especially for coaches when they lose a game or tournament. For this reason, some coaches routinely resign when they fail to win a tourney while others stick it out until they are perhaps booted out.

Dave Rennie, former coach of the Wallabies, surely knows what it feels like to be fired. Although it felt bad to be fired just months before the World Cup, the New Zealander is happy, the New Zealander is happy that his team at least supports him.

After a brief silence following his sacking, the coach spilt the tea. First, he thanked those who had reached out to him and his wife following his sacking. He noted that the support has been truly massive and he has received over 500 messages from current and former players, coaches, administrators and even friends abroad.

The staff he worked with during his time with the Wallabies were not left out, as they showed him support as well. Of course, not all coaches can claim to have similar experiences when they leave. So Dave Rennie is more than happy for what’s playing out following his exit from the Wallabies.

A new life should begin soon enough, elsewhere.
