One key thing about most celebrities is that they are security conscious. They usually go out of their way to ensure their safety and prevent unnecessary contact with random people.
But sometimes this does not sit well with some members of the public, with some of them accusing the celeb of overdoing things. Well, this was what played out recently with Nigerian singer Davido.
The “Blow My Mind” crooner was in South Africa recently. Specifically, he was spotted in Cape Town, where his security detail caught the attention of many people, who criticized him for being “extra” with his security.
In a clip making the rounds, the Nigerian singer could be seen standing, surrounded by men rotting Kalshnikovs. The picture of him surrounded by security men provoked mixed reactions among South Africans.
Some stated that he did the right thing, as he’s been robbed in Mzansi before. Some pointed out that such security measures would have saved AKA and DJ Sumbody, who were both recently assassinated.

Yet some pointed out that no one knows the singer in South Africa and certainly no one would be interested in him. After all, according to the same line of argument, South Africa’s Black is bigger than Davido yet goes about without such security.
