AKA’s memorial and funeral service has just been announced by the family, exactly four days after his death in Durban and exactly four days after it shared its first statement regarding his killing.

In a post on AKA’s verified Twitter account at about 1 p m. today, February 14, the family shared the details for the rapper’s funeral and memorial.

“Long live SupaMega, live long,” declaimed the first flier from the family. It showed the slain rapper with his hands raised to the sky as if in supplication. The second had more details about AKA’s funeral and memorial.

First, the family acknowledged those who have been showing love and support to them one way or the other and added that it would want to celebrate the life of the “Touch My Blood” rapper.

AKA’s memorial service would hold on Friday, February 17, at the Sandton Convention Centre. The scheduled time is 3 p.m.

For the memorial, limited tickets are available on WebTickets. The event will also be streamed live on AKA’s YouTube page.

AKA’s funeral will take place the following day, Saturday, February 18. It will be a private, provincial funeral, with only a few invited guests in attendance.

AKA died on February 10 from point-blank shots to the head. Killed with him was his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
