Mzansi disc jockey and producer Shimza recently got into a heated argument with the politician Mmusi Maimane over the cost of the Enoch Mgijima stadium.
The stadium had reportedly been built at a cost of R15 million but Floyd Shivambu of the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) had denounced the cost as inflated while calling on South Africans to out-vote the ruling African National congress (ANC).
Reacting to Shivambu, Athi Geleba, a spokesperson in the Presidency and rumored girlfriend to Shimza, had spelled out what and what the R15 million was spent. In the list she gave are palisade fencing, rugby and soccer fields, among others.
In another tweet, she clarified that she was not justifying the cost but was merely sharing information relayed to her. She said she was not in a position to determine the difference between the budgeted sum and the work that went into the stadium.
That was when Shimza intervened, defending his rumored girlfriend and indirectly the government and the cost of the stadium.
This led to a heated exchange between him and the politician Mmusi Maimane, with Shimza questioning if the politician had experience in construction and was in a position to know if the stadium was actually worth R15 million.
Details of their Twitter war are below.

I have been involved in construction projects, I have done financial oversight on several construction projects.
Maybe you just know me from twitter streets but I have extensive experience with PFMA and MFMA from my prior and current jobs.
It’s a very overpriced project.

Message your bae. Send flowers. No one forced you to enter this chat.
I have a masters in Economics, while you were entering DJ competitions I was working in public office, I know what I am talking about.
Bottomline, the project did not cost R15 million. There is no spin room
