Controversial culture critic Lavida NOTA has weighed in on the criticisms surrounding the lineup for the Cotton Fest, a musical concert initiated by gip hop ace Riky Rick before his death.
Cotton Fest appeared to have promoted hip hop in its past shows by having many musicians from the genre perform at the event. However, the lineup for the imminent concert has many amapiano artists, and Saffas are confused.
The confusion has led to an open debate on social media, with tweeters unable to agree on the latest lineup.

According to the music executive, there’s actually nothing wrong about the lineup having several amapiano artists. He described those faulting the list as “American wannabes.”

If Riky Rick were alive, would the situation have been different? The much-loved “Boss Zonke” rapper had hung himself in his studio on February 23 this year, throwing the hip hop industry into a state of mourning. Wherever he is, though, he should be chuffed that his legacy is continuing.
