“Disrespectful” – South Africans React To Boity’s Lyrics About AKA, Costa Titch & Riky Rick

South African rapper Boity has come under fire over what some of her compatriots dubbed disrespectful bars about her fallen colleagues AKA, Costa Titch, and Riky Rick.

In order of deaths, Riky Rick went first. He took his life in his studio a year ago. AKA was assassinated as he stepped out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10. Costa Titch died after collapsing on stage during a performance in Johannesbu soon after AKA’s death.

Well, it’s been a while since Boity released new music. He appeared ready to start dropping new bars for her teeming fans and decided to hop on “Sosha Plata Remix” and AKA’s “Mbuzi Freestyle” with freestyles.

It would have been just another freestyle, except that some South Africans took exception to some of the lyrics, which they considered disrespectful to the musicians mentioned earlier. Part of the lyrics goes: First of all R.I.P. to Supa Mega, who would’ve thought that a rapper of his stature will be taking a bullet through the head,” she raps introducing her freestyle.”

Continuing, she rapped: “And that sh*t came right after Riky Rick and after that we lost uCosta Titch. When y’all said hip-hop is dead, y’all used your tongues and spoke it into existence, damn,”

Many South Africans were miffed by the lyrics and railed at her over it. Last we checked, she had not responded.
