DJ Fanatic Recalls AKA Throwing A Jacket At Him During A Carnival City Show

South African rapper AKA is long dead, but the memories of him are still flying out there, with DJ Fanatic being the latest to share his experience with the slain musician.

During a recent appearance on the Episode Podcast, DJ Fanatic recalled the moment he was at the decks and turntables during an event at Carnival City and AKA was on the ground as well.

The DJ recalled he picked the wrong song for his set, which apparently did not please AKA, who threw a jacket at him. He went on to say that AKA later apologised and the show continued without drama, which was caused by a “miscommunication ”

AKA may no longer be around, but his memory is still very fresh and those who know him or have encountered him one way or the other continue to share their recollections of him and his work.

Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was gunned down at point-blank range soon after he stepped out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10 this year. Also killed with him was his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The police are currently investigating the case, with no major breakthrough recorded so far – a cause for anger among some South Africans.
