DJ Maphorisa is miffed by those who are trying to profit from the recent deaths in a car accident of some amapiano musicians, urging the rapacious peeps to cease and desist.
Killer Kau and Mpura, two notable figures in South Africa’s amapiano universe, had perished alongside three others in a car accident while driving to a gig. Since then, tribute shows have been popping all over South Africa in their memory.
However, DJ Maphorisa, loudly called one of the Piano Kings in celebration of his contribution to the amapiano genre, thinks something is fishy somewhere and those who are hosting tribute shows are just doing it for personal gain.
He made this clear in a tweet days ago, urging those involved to cease and just respect the departed. His tweet has been liked over 10,000 times and has generated over 150 comments. You can check it out below.
Most of his fans were clearly in support of his take on tribute shows. By the way, besides tribute shows, some artists have released songs either honoring the dead or featuring them.
