The South African Amapiano Music Awards is the latest award in town. But not many are impressed by its creation. Although he was nominated for the award alongside Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa thinks the award is an accident.
He had questioned the institution of the award as well as those behind it since there are no details about the award yet. Also, although he was nominated for the award, he is yet to state whether he’ll be accepting it or not.
While DJ Maphorisa has been questioning the award, his partner in amapiano progress Kabza De Small has been mostly quiet. Kabza has made it clear he’s working o the second volume of his “King of Piano” album.
In his complaint about the amapiano awards, DJ Maphorisa has got several supporters on social media. Some of these supporters claim that deserving artistes like Kamo Mphela and DJ Jaivane were missing on the list.
Of course, there are also those rooting for the amapiano award and what it stands for.
