DJ Sbu Advises Cellular Jnr On How To Show Respect While Addressing Former President Jacob Zuma

South African musician and entrepreneur DJ Sbu has called out the social media influencer Cellular Jnr for not addressing South Africa’s former president Jacob Zuma with respect.

The controversy started after an excited Cellular Jnr shared a picture of him with President Jacob Zuma in what appears to be a public location. The former president was formally dressed and Cellular himself looked excitedly into the camera as the picture was taken.

In the caption to the post, Cellular had written, verbatim, “Jacob Zuma finally meets The Coolest Kid in Africa.” Reacting to the post, DJ Sbu schooled the young man, letting him know that he should not address the former president directly by his name.

He said he should have used his former title of president or other titles of honour to show his reverence to the former president who is actually old enough to be his grandfather. Many of those who saw DJ Sbu’s comment echoed them. You can check out the post below, which also has DJ Sbu praising the picture taken with the former president.

At the time of writing, Cellular Jnr had not commented on DJ Sbu’s post. But then, he has certainly gotten the message from the Guinness World Records holder.
