DJ Sumbody’s Partner Kagiso Admits To R15 Million Insurance Policy On Late Musician

The late DJ Sumbody’s partner Kagiso Setsetse is currently a centre of great interest after it was revealed that he tried to cash a multimillion-rand insurance cheque following the death of her man, who was shot dead alongside a bodyguard last year.

He admitted to trying to cash the cheque but noted that it is a normal business procedure. according to him, he had taken the insurance policy after DJ Sumbody started reeing threats from local gangs,

A report by Sunday World claimed that Kagiso and DJ Sumbody were threatened to pay protection fees for their local club, Ayepep Lifestyle. During the negotiations, DJ Sumbody and Kagiso reportedly had a dispute over salary.

The dispute was eventually sorted and Kagiso insured DJ Sumbody for R15 million. It was reported that, following the amapiano singer’s death, he attempted to get the late musician’s birth certificate from his mother but was unsuccessful. Thereafter, he allegedly tried to get it illegally from the funeral parlour.

That effort was thwarted by detectives pending investigations into the late musician’s death.

It’s been a year since DJ Sumboy’s killing, but the police are yet to have a breakthrough into the case at the time of writing. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be.
