Umlilo star, DJ Zinhle and Mihlali Ndamase team up for an initiative by TikTok to help Black Mzansi creators.
Popular SA Disc Jockey, DJ Zinhle and content creator, Mihlali Ndamase have teamed up with TikTok for a new initiative titled the Rising Voices incubator project.
This initiative is exclusive to all black South African creators. It has also been endorsed by the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF). The NFVF is an agency of the South African Department of Arts and Culture. It is expected to run for 6 weeks and will support local Black content creator through developement of digital skills, and content amplification.
Briefly reports that the project “will train, educate and support 100 black creators, selected by a committee, on how to use the platform and create high-quality content”. 20 creators chosen after the project will receive grants, and will also be tasked with creating paid content.
