DMX to pay $225K in back taxes to the state of New York.
It isn’t a great time to be DMX. The popular rapper has been through a lot over the years. Each time we look forward to his rise, something new happens. He’s been in and out of jail, rehab, and it almost seems unending.
A new report by Bossip reveals that the State of New York recently filed a tax warrant against him demanding he promptly pay $224,845 in back taxes. This sounds familiar as the rapper once spent a year in prison for tax fraud. Feds claimed he intentionally dodged paying $2.2 million federal income taxes.
Hopefully, this doesn’t land him in jail again. X’s attorney, Murray Richman revealed they expected the state to file a lien against him. He also didn’t reveal much about the case but said he’s doing okay, and has been working on a documentary in Tennessee.
“Earl is doing really well. He’s been working on a documentary. While everybody has been down, he’s been working in Tennessee… He’s a terrific guy, love him.”
