DONDA Album: Kanye West Ditches Jay-Z’s Verse For DaBaby’s

Kanye West apparently dropped Jay-Z’s verse from his “Jail” song, replacing it with a verse from DaBaby. The said song is part of the American rapper’s intensely anticipated “DONDA” album.

The album was to have been released earlier, but Ye pushed the release date to 3 September 2021, to coincide with the release date of his one-time friend now rival Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” album.

Kanye West had performed his “Jail” tune on Thursday 26 August in his hometown Chicago. When it was time for Jay-Z’s verse. DaBaby hopped on the podium and released his own verse, which was different from Jay-Z’s.

While some fans were surprised Jay-Z’s verse was removed, others were not. Kanye West has had sporadic tiffs with Jay-Z. Their relationship dates back twenty years and seems to be on-again and off-again.

By the way, when Kanye West made a run for the presidency of the United States last year, he had invited Jay-Z to join him in the campaign trail as vice president. That didn’t work out, and oh, Ye also didn’t win the election. Joe Biden did.
