Nothing is nearly as beautiful as being debt-free after a long battle with the taxman. This is the reality of popular musician Dr Malinga, who recently announced that he has paid off his R2.1 million debt to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
A while back, the songster had stunned many and also provoked a wave of sympathy when he stated that he was in dire financial straits and could do with the help of the public. Along the line came helping hands. But it was nowhere near what he needed.
All the dame, he was grateful for the assistance. He reportedly got a total of R150k in donations back then. Anyway, that is an old story. The songster is seemingly making progress in other areas while also planning ahead.
In a video of an interview currently making the rounds online, Dr Malinga informed the public that he has paid off his debt to the SARS by selling some of his properties. Besides that, according to him, he is also gearing up to launch a new show. The news had most of his fans excited, as they see he i making progress after what appeared to have been a bad spell in his career recently.
