Dr. Nandipha Magudumana reported spending her birthday and several more days in custody. This comes the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court yesterday postponed her bail application to next week, September 11.
Dr. Nandipha Magudumana has been at the center of every topic for months. According to reports by several media outlets, the disgraced doctor will spend her birthday in jail.
In an article shared by IOL, Magistrate Estelle de Lange listened in as the defense and State made their closing arguments and even asked for clarity on additional charges leveled at the doctor by the State. According to her lawyer, Adv. Machini Motloung, it was an important day for her because it was her birthday.
Responding to whether she was enjoying her 35th birthday, the doctor shook her head shyly. The article further stated that her family members, including her father, Zolile Sekeleni (out on R10 000 bail for the same case), her sister, and her brother were in court with a birthday cake to celebrate her.
The state argued that she was a flight risk because she escaped the country in April with her lover, Thabo Bester.
