Drake Loses Almost R14 Million Betting Against Dricus Du Plessis

The world of betting is as uncertain as can be. But, of course, this reality has not stopped people from taking risks and dropping their cheddar where their faith is. Lol.

One man famously in the habit of betting on athletes he believes in is the Canadian rapper Aubrey Drak Graham, long famously known mononymously as Drake.

Well, the songster was in his betting spirit again recently, but he bet against South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis in his match against  Sean Strickland. Both athletes faced off at the Scotiabank Arena.

It was a split decision in the South African’s favour (48-47, 47-48, 48-47). For Du Plessis, though, this is not just another win but one of great significance not just for him but for South Africa as a country.

For one, he is the first South African UFC champion. But his win was Canadian rapper Drake’s loss. Prior to the match, the “Certified Lover Boy” of Canadian rap had shared his bet slip which showed that he placed a bet of CAD 700k (almost R14 million) on Strickland to win the match.

Well, his fave lost and South Africans have been focused on the humongous sum he “blew just like that.” But that’s a small change for Drake. Lol.
