Drake Shocked At The Weeknd’s 2021 Grammy Nomination Snub

The 2021 Grammy nominations had some unexpected snubs and surprises. The Weeknd is among those snubbed by the Grammy in its nominations for 2021.

The songster isn’t having it. In a tweet, the denounced the award body as corrupt, stating that the body owes him, his fans and the music industry some transparency.

“Megatron” songstress Nicki Minaj shares The Weeknd’s verdict. Apparently she has been saying the same thing for years, but no one has been taking her seriously. Anyway, she has amplified her verdict following the release of the nominees list of the 2021 Grammys.

She had been snubbed previously, and was apparently snubbed this year as well. She made her grievances known in a tweet on 24 November.

The Canadian rapper Drake has been largely empathetic with The Weeknd. In his Instagram Stories, Drake had stated that he expected The Weeknd’s album “After Hours” to be nominated for the 2021 Grammys but the album just didn’t make it to the nominees list.

@champagnepapi (Drake)

I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after. It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways. The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way: This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come.
