MultiChoice announced plans to increase DStv prices in April.
MultiChoice is set to increase DStv prices from 1 April. Two DStv packages, Compact Plus and DStv Access will see an above-inflation increase. The hikes of the two packages are reportedly greater than South Africa’s inflation rate of 6%.
According to a report by News24, DStv Access will get a sports injection in the form of access to content from ESPN, La Liga, SuperSport Variety 4 and the SuperSport Blitz channels. The follow are the increased prices that will take effect in April,
- DStv Premium: R929 (5.7% increase, from R879)
- DStv Compact Plus: R619 (6.9% increase, from R579)
- DStv Compact: R469 (4.5% increase, from R449)
- DStv Family: R329 (3.1% increase, from R319)
- DStv Access: R139 (7.5% increase, from R129)
- DStv Access Dee: R120 (4.3% increase, from R115)
- DStv EasyView: R29 (remains the same)
ADD Movies package will remian at R79 monthly, and DStv BoxOffice rentals also remain unchanged at R40 a pop. This shows that there will be no increases for them. Also, streaming-only services will maintain the current subscription fees.
