Dwayne Johnson Made Henry Cavill’s Superman Cameo Happen Behind DC Films Boss’s Back

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reportedly made Henry Cavill’s Superman cameo in Black Adam happen behind DC Films boss’s back.

What The Rock wants, The Rock gets. For a while now, we’ve all been able to smell what he’s cooking. The movie star’s highly anticipated movie, Black Adam, opens in theatres this weekend. We are all excited.

Fans are anticipating to see Henry Cavill’s cameo in the film. Now, that’s something Johnson is proud of because he can’t stop talking about it since the premiere. We hear we went to great heights to make the cameo happen. The gist is that he went over DC Films boss Walter Hamada’s head to do it.

In a recently published article about it, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Hamada (exiting his role as the DC Films boss without a replacement yet) had said no to the Cavill cameo. He had not wanted to continue the Zach Snyder-led era of the DCEU.

However, Warner Bros. film bosses Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy (who will be holding down the DC fort) greenlit the cameo after Johnson spoke to them about it. They helped get the deal done around labor day. In a conversation with ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis, Johnson hinted at a Black Adam/Superman crossover movie.

He said, “I think the question is, should it be the showdown? I don’t know if that’s the way to go. And when fans watch Black Adam and they see the end, and they really pay attention, as I know they will… as they pay attention to the words that were said, they pay attention to the nuance of the looks. We’ll let that lead us.”
