EFCC Arrests 75 Suspected ‘Yahoo boys’ In Imo

The EFCC has arrested 75 suspected Yahoo Boys in Imo State in a separate sting operations.

Nigerian President, Buhari’s effort to rid the country of corruption seems to be going really well. The country has often been accused of Internet fraud which has touched various parts of the world.

According to recent reports, Owerri, Imo State seems to be a den for Yahoo Boys in the country. The EFCC recently nabbed a total of 75 suspected Yahoo Boys in the city in separate sting operations that have proven successful. The Daily Post reports that “Operatives from the Abuja Zonal Command of the commission arrested 46 of the “Yahoo boys” on Monday”.

In a statement shared about the recent arrests, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren revealed that the boys were picked up for their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud. The arrested suspects include students and job seekers between the ages of 18 and 31 years old. Uwujaren said “Upon their arrest 6 cars, various phones and laptops of different makes were recovered,”.
