After going missing for several days, Hillary Gardee, daughter of EFF formers secretary-general and attorney general Godrich Gardee, was found dead — allegedly murdered.
A frantic search had started for the then-missing postgraduate student after she disappeared for 72 hours, with the family offering R200k for any information leading to her return to the family.
Hillary had reportedly disappeared while shopping at Spat in the Nelspruit area. At the time, she was said to be wearing a black top and black trousers.
Details about how she died are still sketchy, but her family had confirmed through the EFF that she’s no more. The red collective noted it is heartbroken by the news of Hillary’s death and that her family is distraught by it all. Investigations are underway as the family tries to find closure. According to some South Africans who are following the case, her alleged abduction and eventual murder is nothing surprising, as similar incidents have played out across Mzansi previously.
