Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters flooded the OR Tambo Airport to welcome the national football team Bafana Bafana following their performance at AFCON.
South Africa has been known to show love to the people who make us proud. Fans always flood the airport to welcome their fans when they hit new milestones. The country welcomed the Springboks and UFC Champion Dricus du Plessis when they returned with wins.
This time, members of the Economic Freedom Fighters were the people spotted at the OR Tambo Airport to welcome the national football team Bafana Bafana after they returned home from the recently held Africa Cup of Nations. The party leader, Julius Malema, was also spotted with them.
Photos shared on X showed hundreds of the red berets as the team returned in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Malema seemed to be in high spirits as he welcomed the team. A tweet was also shared on social media, and it read,
“Fighters came out in their numbers to OR Tambo to welcome Bafana Bafana home. The EFF will always support and rally behind the South African football team.”
Bafana Bafana player Teboho Mokoena appreciated Malema for showing up to welcome them. He called it the proudest moment of his life and for his family.
Without the EFF Bafana Bafana was going to arrive to an airport that would be close to empty.
