Embattled Producer Harvey Weinstein To Appeal Rape Conviction

Guilty. That was the verdict against former Hollywood star Harvey Weinstein. A Los Angeles grand jury had found him guilty of raping a woman and pronounced its verdict.

But Harvey Weinstein is unimpressed with it all and has made clear his next line of action – which is appealing the verdict.

In the trial which lasted about two months, it was revealed that Harvey Weinstein, 70, used his influence to lure women into private meetings and then pouncing on them. his latest accused is named simply Jane Doe 1 to protect her identity.

With the current guilty verdict, Harvey Weinstein faces up to 24 years in jail. The producer is already serving a 23-year jail term following his conviction on rape and sexual assault charges two years ago.

After the current guilty verdict was reached, Juda Engelmayer, spokesperson to the former producer, noted that his client will appeal the verdict. He described Weinstein as being disappointed with the verdict because he, the producer, knows what happened and what didn’t.

With the plan to appeal, all eyes are now on Harvey Weinstein and what he might get from his appeal – if anything at all. Of course, for the disgraced producer, it is not yet uhuru.
